Tornai Orange Harslevelu
This orange is made from Hungary's native Hárslevelű grape and fermented on the skins for three weeks. Making a beautifully textural wine. The nose is packed with dried apricot, Earl Grey tea, wild herbs, orange citrus, and a subtle nutty note. The palate is layered and savoury, with ripe stone fruit flavours, gentle tannic grip and a long, herbal finish. The wine is fermented in oak barrels before spending six months ageing on its lees, adding extra depth and complexity.
The Tornai Pincészet is the largest winery in Somlò. Tornai has a long winemaking tradition that often goes overlooked by drinkers who know Hungary only for its sweet Tokaji wines. Somlò is a growing area blessed with ideal growing conditions, volcanic soils, and sheltering from the elements.
