Sandridge Barton Dart Valley Reserve
Ripe and fruit-driven, with aromas of white peach, pear, yellow apple and lemon thyme on the nose. The palate is soft and rounded with a subtle touch of spice on the finish.
Most of the grapes are fermented and blended in stainless steel, except for a touch of Pinot Blanc that is barrel aged in old French oak barrels for three months.
Sandridge Barton winery has a history stretching back to the 1960's when the Sharpam Estate was bought and started out as a Jersey cows farm. Over time, they developed the idea of making a French-style soft cheese from the milk and planting some trial vines on the sunny south-facing slope overlooking the river Dart. Fast forward to today, they now cultivate a good 32-acre vineyard, and make great wines by employing a combination of modern and traditional approaches.
