Nero D’Avola from four neighbouring parcels, each with their own distinctive soil type, sun exposure, and training system. The result is a delicious red with notes of sour cherry, wild strawberry, tart cranberry and a touch of spice. The palate is juicy yet structured with fine tannins. Good acidity on the finish keeps you reaching for more. The grapes are never pressed, they are only destemmed and aged in stainless steel to maintain fruit purity
Meaning “land of the beloved sun,” Marabino was founded in 2002 in Sicily’s Val di Noto by vigneron Pierpaolo Messina. Inspired by biodynamic practices he observed in Tuscany, Messina works 30ha in the Contrada Buonivini hamlet, not far from the Ionian Sea’s breezes, which help balance and preserve freshness in the wines. To him, wine is an intertwining of history, nature, and culture, and he strives to create wines that truly reflect the essence of this land.
