A Rioja blend like no other. Rich, smoky, and textured, with notes of orange peel, quince, loads of stone fruit, something tropical, and a touch of black tea leaf. The palate is dry and creamy, with fine chalky tannins and a long finish. Hand harvested, fermented spontaneously and left to ferment with skins for 2 months before ageing a further year in large French oak barrels.
Melanie Hickman, originally from North America, moved to Rioja Alavesa after meeting her partner, David Sampedro. There, she combined her love of nature and wine by rescuing and producing single-vineyard wines from old vines. Focused on biodynamic farming and site-specific expression, her work is rooted in sustainability, precision, and a deep connection to the land.
