Gismondi’s very first sparkling wine - lively and refreshing - crafted in the traditional method, this “col fondo” style fizz begins with directly pressed Falanghina from the 2022 vintage, then undergoes a natural second fermentation in bottle using 2023 must, with no disgorgement.
Pouring a hazy golden hue, with bright notes of citrus zest, green apple, and a hint of white peach. The signature peachy richness of Falanghina is lifted by the savoury salinity of lees contact and the limestone soils of the vineyard. Soft and mousse-like on entry, it rolls through notes of orchard fruit, citrus blossom, gentle leesy spice, and a subtle hint of sweet almond on the finish.
Winemaker Antonio Gismondi returned to his family’s biodynamic vineyards in Cerreto Sannita in 2018, shifting from restaurant life to produce natural wines guided by a simple philosophy: grapes only. Farming 2 hectares at 350 metres over limestone and clay, along with small local plantings of Trebbiano Rosa, he creates six wines known for their freshness, delicacy and saline lift - distinctly lighter and more vibrant than the region’s typical styles.
