Niepoort, Ruby Dum Port, Half Bottle

A diminutive port to sit alongside your cheese board in handy half-bottle format. Ruby is the brighter, slightly sweeter fruit-driven style that provides that warm hug of luscious, raisined fruit. Full bodied Ruby Dum is classically trodden and fermented in granite lagares with wild yeast, and then aged in large old vats where oxidative development is minimal. The wine has dense rich lush fruit, opulent sweetness and great persistance in the mouth.

Part of the Niepoort family’s boundary-pushing Nat’Cool project, this wine comes from Quinta de Baixo in the Minho region. Niepoort, founded in 1842, has long been known as a small but visionary Port house, now led by fifth-generation siblings Dirk and Verena Niepoort. What began as a niche operation has grown into one of Portugal’s most respected names, producing everything from traditional Ports to expressive natural wines across the Douro, Bairrada and Dão. Dirk’s commitment to understanding soils, microclimates and native grapes has drawn the estate toward organic and biodynamic farming, with many vineyards now certified.
