Mataburro Mura Mura
This natural rosé is both elegant and complex, with juicy red cherry and strawberry notes lifted by the floral perfume of Muscat. Made from organic Grenache, Merlot, and Muscat grapes—hand-harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts—after just one night of maceration. Bottled unfiltered, unfined, and with no added sulphur.
Mataburro is the project of natural winemakers Laurent Roger and Melissa Ingrand, based in Rivesaltes near Perpignan in Southern France. Despite the warm Mediterranean climate, their wines show remarkable freshness. The name ‘Mataburro’—meaning ‘Donkey Killer’—comes from a tragic local tale: when the railway opened through the vineyard in 1910, two donkeys were killed on its first day.
