Aulesa Methode Ancestral Riesling, Celler Batlliu
100% Riesling made in the methode ancestrale. Floral on the nose, with notes of apples, pears, and citrus. On the palate, it is fresh, and lively with small but persistent bubbles and a lingering honeyed note. Good acidity will keep you coming back for more.
The area where the vineyard is located, was in medieval times under the jurisdiction of a stately administrator by the name of Batlle, that the cellar takes its name after.
Hundreds of years later, five friends from Pallars created Celler Batlliu of Sort to produce quality wine in this area of the Pyrenees among gentle slopes and the traditional dry-stone terraces, surrounded by oak woods and honeyberry trees. The vineyards are planted with Pinot Noir and Riesling to reflect their high-altitude terroir.
