Flavour profile

This French sparkling wine is light and super bright, with flavours of green apple, underripe peach, citrus zest, and a touch of white blossom. There’s a soft, slightly frothy mousse and a lick of minerality that keeps everything dry and refreshing. A whisper of sweetness up front gives way to a clean, bone-dry finish with just the right amount of grip.

About Château Tour des Gendres

Located in the heart of Bergerac, Château Tour des Gendres is a long-standing name in southwest France’s organic wine scene. The de Conti family has been farming here for generations, producing expressive, low-intervention wines that reflect the local terroir. Today, they’re known for bringing energy and clarity to traditional grapes through minimal sulphur use and a deep commitment to sustainability.

About Pet-Nat

Pétillant Naturel (Pét Nat for short) is a type of natural sparkling wine made using the methode ancestrale: bottled while still fermenting, without added sugar or secondary fermentation. The result? A gentler fizz, slightly cloudy look, and a wilder, more expressive character than Champagne-style wines. It's the fun, unfiltered cousin of traditional sparkling: fresh, raw, and exciting.

How to pair it

Perfect as an apéritif or with light food, try it with sushi, smoked fish, goat’s cheese, or herby salads. Also works a treat with spring veg, shellfish, or picnic spreads. Chill it well and pop it open anywhere you’d serve a Prosecco, but want something a bit cooler and more natural.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Pét-Nat different from other sparkling wines?

Pét-Nat is made with just one fermentation that finishes in the bottle, unlike Champagne or Crémant, which undergo a second fermentation. This gives it a softer fizz, more texture, and a rawer, less filtered character.

What is French Chenin Blanc like?

Chenin Blanc from France is zesty, versatile, and full of character, often showing notes of apple, pear, citrus, and honey, depending on the style. In sparkling wines like this one, it brings brightness, acidity, and a clean mineral finish.

What is a natural sparkling wine?

Natural sparkling wines like Pét-Nat are made with minimal intervention: no commercial yeasts, little to no added sulphur, and often unfiltered. They're lively, a bit wild, and often show a more authentic fizz.

What does Sauvignon Blanc add to a wine blend?

In blends, Sauvignon Blanc brings freshness, acidity, and a herbal or citrusy edge. Paired with Chenin Blanc, it balances fruit with zing, making wines that are crisp, aromatic, and super refreshing.

Is sparkling wine only for celebrations?

Not at all! While it's great for toasts, sparkling wine like this Pét-Nat is also perfect for picnics, aperitifs, or light meals. Its brightness and low alcohol make it incredibly versatile and easy to enjoy anytime.
