Tameran, Marmajuelo
The bouquet is very gentle in this Canarian Marmajuelo, but it opens with white blossoms, orchard fruit and salinity as it adjusts in the glass. On the palate, it's got a lovely weight and fresh minerality with notes of citrus and ripe apples. A fairly complex wine that's aged over lees in oak vats, has good potential for ageing.
Started in 2019 by footballer and Canary Islands native David Silva, and winemaker Jonathan Garcia, Tamerán is set across six hectares of vineyards in Gran Canaria. They focus on local varietis such as Verdello, Baboso Blanco, Marmajuelo, Vijariego Negro and Blanco, Malvasía Aromática and Volcánica.
