Domaine Les Bottes Rouges Face B Jura Savagnin
This is a ripe, richly textured Savagnin with plenty of freshness to go with ample, exotic fruit and spice. With a barely perceptible volatile hue. A superb natural wine that once again comes from the talent of this great Jura winemaker.
Jean-Baptiste Menigoz was a teacher in Arbois before he fell in love with natural winemaking. He split his time between the two for years, before Stéphane Tissot convinced him to make wine full-time. He was joined in 2014 by Dutch winemaker Florien Kleine Snuverink, and the estate now comprises seven hectares over seven different plots, with soil types ranging from limestone to heavy clay to marl. He’s worked organically since day one, with biodynamic processes in place according to each plot’s needs. He makes a vast range of wines, all with native yeasts, no fining, and no filtration.
