Tillingham Qvevri Dharc
NATURAL / VEGAN / BIODYNAMIC (UNCERTIFIED) / LOW SULPHITES
A delicious and intriguing English Chardonnay. Saline and citrus mingle with a nutty twist on the nose, slightly grippy on the palate from the Qvevri (Georgian Amphorae) influence leading into a slightly buttery, rounded finish from the oak barrels. Taut acidity, reminiscent of Chablis of a bygone era.
The wine spends 6 months in Qvevri and 6 months in oak barrels.
Tillingham is the brainchild of Ben Walgate, who has quickly become a winemaker to keep your eye on. The primary focus of the label is ecological biodiversity, which has led to the production of distinct, exciting wines. Using natural methods, they combine ancient traditional farming techniques and contemporary best practices to create a range of low intervention wines that allow the grapes to really shine.
