Organic and Biodynamic wine can be a source of debate as to whether they are healthier for us. They certainly are full of vitality and flavour, as well as kinder to the environment.
Organic wine is made from grapes grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides and herbicides.
Biodynamic winemakers follow the biodynamic calendar, led by lunar and planetary cycles. Famers have followed the moon’s effect on plant growth for thousands of years; it does, after all, controls the tides and plants are reliant on water to carry nutrients. Homoeopathic treatments made from natural ingredients (nettle, yarrow, camomile, oak bark, dandelion and valerian) are used to treat all manner of conditions, to bring health to the soil and the vines.
