Patrick Stewart doesn't play by the rules - a blend of Moscato, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Malbec. Wacky, we know - but does it taste good. With the appearance of a cloudy apple/rhubarb juice - this delectably moorish has blackcurrants & strawberry on the nose, with a rich mouthfeel & texture - a proper glugger!
The wine is aged in ceramic egg for the last 6 months and is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with a small addition of sulphur.

NATURAL / VEGAN
A refreshing, light orange wine. A touch of crispiness and some earthy notes of most skin contact wines. Hand harvested, the wine matures in barrel for one year, after which it is bottled unfined and unfiltered. It is normally bottled with zero sulfur added, but they may add a little depending on the vintage.
The big white egret – that inspired the label as well – often visits the vineyard right by the Neusiedl Lake.

Another killer orange by the Slobodne family, this time 100% Pinot Gris. Destemmed grapes with 2 weeks of skin contact, spontaneous fermentation outdoors, and then aged in steel for 18 months. Floral, fruity, funky, fresh.

The vineyard has been reclaimed by the Jewish family who still runs it, after it was lost twice: to WWII and then to the communist government. The current generation is invested in natural wines and biodiversity; particularly working with skin contact offerings and constant experimentation in their processes.

A silky skin contact Riesling from Staffelter Hof, named for one of the winemaker's favourite childhood cartoons. The de-stemmed grapes get only one day on their skins, keeping the colour very light. It has lovely acidity, creamy texture from full malolactic fermentation, and a savoury finish from its time in old oak.

Fattoria di Sammontana Sangiovese

ORGANIC/BIODYNAMIC/VEGAN/MINIMAL ADDED SULPHITES

A Chianti, just declassified. The makers didn't want to sacrifice their natural practices (like adding almost no sulphites) just to maintain their 'Chianti' certification, so they decided to live without the name. It ticks all the boxes though, being fruit-driven, with a fairly dry finish. The soil is fairly poor in nutrients, so all the grape's flavours are very well developed.

VEGAN/UNCERTIFIED BIODYNAMIC/LOW SULPHUR

Third vintage of the PN, this one is perhaps the least wild and the most vinous. Bright cherry and damsons, with floral notes, crisp and refreshing with a dry finish.
Whole bunch pressed Dornfelder & Reichensteiner were fermented separately in stainless steel. Crushed Müller again fermented in steel.
Carbonic maceration regent from concrete added for colour. Fermentation in bottle, not disgorged.

Cotes du Jura Savagnin La Pierre, Loreline Laborde

ORGANIC
This is a notably elegant style of topped up savagnin which shows its supreme versatility as a food wine. Aged in 3-5yo barrels this has zesty lime on the nose, there is a perfect play of fruit and acidity on the palate, with stewed lemons, menthol hint, spice and characteristic salinity and attractive bitters on the finish.
Loreline Laborde is an amazing young talented female winemaker that started making in Jura in 2010, with only 2 ha of vines. This wine showcases the richness of Savagnin, been fruit and mineral driven, ouille (topped up, no oxidation). The palate is has a lot of texture, its full bodied but well balanced. It is a MUST TRY wine, if you like wines from Jura or the french Alpes.

Michael Wenzel in Burgenland where his family have been making wine since 1647. His father Robert brought Furmint back to Austria after near extinction when the country separated from Hungary.
