Legend in his own lunchtime, Portuguese wine producer Dirk van der Niepoort has launched a new concept. In collaboration with other producers, he intends to release a range of wines under the Nat’Cool label. To be ‘Nat’Cool’, the wine should be natural or low intervention with very low or zero added sulphur dioxide. In addition, the wines will be sold in a one litre format, which allows for great value. The focus is on the expression of terroir.
The second release is a 100% Baga from Bairrada, which Niepoort has described as the flagship of the Nat’Cool range.
The NatCool rules:
1. No rules
2. Always respect the first rule
3. Less is more
4. Cooler = less alcohol, less extraction, less mess
5. Authentic, organic, cool attitude
6. One litre bottle
